Drawing the Everyday
This class is an invitation to slow down and look more closely at what is already around you.
We’ll work with simple, everyday subjects—objects, plants, small scenes—and learn how to translate what we see into drawing. The sessions are built to help you feel more confident in your lines, your observation, and your way of working.
Over the first sessions, we’ll explore:
– how to observe and simplify shapes
– proportions, composition and scale
– light and shadow
– texture and depth through crosshatching
Each session includes guided exercises and time to draw, with individual feedback along the way.
In the final sessions, we’ll shift toward a more personal piece—taking the time to develop a larger drawing from reference, using the techniques we’ve explored together.
Choose how you want to join us :
4-week 2-hour sessions (from May 29 to June 19) Build the foundations of drawing the everyday—observation, light & shadow, and crosshatching. Beginner-friendly.
2-week 2-hour sessions (June 26 & July 3) Work on a larger drawing with guidance. For those with prior experience or who completed the first 4 weeks.
Full program: 4 weeks of foundations + 2 weeks to create a finished drawing with guidance. Best way to build skills and complete a piece.
